Clickfunnels grew from nothing to $90 million in sales within 3 years.
They know a few things about online marketing. Because that’s pretty much all they do.
If you go to their homepage, you’ll see that right at the top is a chance to take a quiz.
The purpose of the quiz is to segment their audience. So they can send you more targeted offers and message.
In this case, they ask questions to help them understand where you are in your business. So they can send a relevant case study proving how Clickfunnels can help you.
So the first question they ask is what type of business you’re in.
Then they ask about how much experience you have.
Then they want to know about your experience with funnels:
And finally, they ask what your biggest challenge with using a funnel is.
Depending on how you answer each question, they send you a different case study.
This way, you get to see how someone in your specific situation had success using Clickfunnels.
Then, they shoot you an email.
Inside the email, they reflect back your answers to the questions. For example, “you mentioned that you’re building a coaching business”.
Then, they give you a chance to watch the case study of a coach who grew their business with their product.
When you click, you get sent to a page where you can watch the case study and get a free trial of the Clickfunnels software.
Ta-da!
Your cold traffic case study quiz is complete!
Now here’s the thing:
They didn’t have to put a quic. They could have just said “Click here for a free trial of Clickfunnels”, right?
Sure. But there is a major issues with that:
If you ask for the free trial straight away, people who join still don’t know if it’s for them. The fact they had to answer questions explaining their situation, and then you gave them a customized solution helps them believe this is for them. That belief is then reinforced with proof in the form of a case study.
So now, the new customer is more likely to use it. And they’re more likely to stick with it. Because they now have that belief and proof that this is for them.
How to make it even better
The case study videos they use are very high quality. They do a great job covering the deeper pain as well as the deeper reason why these people wanted to change.
For example, they talk about how Garret had “duct tapped funnels together using lots of different software”. And how he’s inspired to grow his business because of the impact he’s able to have in other men’s lives.
But they could have gone deeper into the story. Really helped the viewer walk through the steps. So they can see how simple and easy it can be — and how quickly they can see results.
They also could have talked more about the doubt/fear they had about joining. Because that would connect with how the reader feels at that moment. And what got them to finally give Clickfunnels a chance.
Finally, they could have expanded on the results. Sure, the fact he can reach more people is huge. But people also want to know more tangible results. Like how quickly he grew, how many new clients he got, how his improved business went on to improve his life, etc.
Those are all pieces I include in the Hero’s Journey Case Studies I write for clients.
