What if you already had everything you needed to generate way more sales?
You don’t need a billion new leads…
Or some fancy funnel…
Or the latest sales/copy system from Big Shot GURU Man…
Instead, you just had to take copy, stories, and content you already have and share it in a new way to increase sales.
The Great Allison Carpio (a master of split testing, avatars, and author of Shut Up and Take My Money) did that for a client the other day.
She was tasked with increasing sales on a VSL (video sales letter).
Did she break her back re-writing the whole damn thing? No.
Did she brainstorm some amazing new “big idea?” or hook or unique mechanism? Nope.
Did she revamp the whole funnel? No.
She just took proof elements that were kicking around in the basement, dusted them off, polished them up, and put them front-and-center.
She added a bunch of “before and after” testimonials below her 5-minute VSL video. That one little change boosted sales 47%.
A couple of takeaways from this:
- Load up on proof (testimonials) and put it below your VSL’s. It can help you increase conversions dramatically.
- Instead of trying to create something new, think “What can I do with the assets I already have?”One of the best assets to have for this reason are case studies. You can re-use them for paid ads, launches, autoresponders, create an ebook, etc. Here are 25 ways to use case studies to increase sales. Case studies also give you that proof which is so critical to increase conversions — just like it did for Allison.Another great resource is customer interviews. A few in-depth interviews can give you most of the copy you need for emails, mini-launches, sales pages, headlines, etc. You just copy and paste your customer’s words and you don’t have to do much else. I’ve got a whole process for how to do that which you can learn about here.
So re-use your proof elements in different ways. It can save you a lot of time and headache trying to be clever. It’s an easier way to increase conversions across the board.
